Dreaming big for the future - GCSE Results 2023

Year 11 learners in all of Dudley Academies Trust’s secondary schools celebrated their results today.

Jo Higgins, Chief Executive Officer said:

“This year, 2023 outcomes need to be compared to results in 2019. I am delighted that all our schools are in line with these measures and two are significantly above which is a fantastic achievement. We must recognise the challenges our learners have faced since 2020 and it is wonderful to see the rewards for their hard work and determination to dream big and achieve. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff for their ongoing support and commitment to our learners and to their parents and carers for working with us to ensure that our young people can flourish. Best wishes to all our year 11 learners as they move onto the next phase of their education, and I wish them every success for their future.”

Learners across the Trust were able to defy the national trend for results to be lower than last year. A great example is Charlie Smith at St James Academy, Dudley, who collected an impressive set of results with the equivalent of 5 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8 and 2 Grade 7s.

At The Link Academy, Netherton, Anam Zakir and Alfie Price both achieved 3 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 3 Grade 7s.

Other similarly high achievers were Richard Westwood at Beacon Hill Academy in Sedgley and Sameer Abbass at Pegasus Academy.
